The Derwent School of Dance offers Ballet and Irish dancing classes for ages 4 years to adults. We cater for the individual dancer whether it be for fun and recreation, or a more competitive minded dancer.

RAD Ballet

Royal Academy of Dance Ballet Syllabus with classes for all grades from Pre-Primary to Advanced, including Discovering Repertoire. Dancers are given the opportunity to perform in Exams and Concerts.

Irish Dancing

CLRG (An Coimisiun Le Rinci Gaelacha) Irish Dancing Classes for all levels from Beginners to Open. Dancers participate in Feis (Competitions), Ceili (team dancing), exams, concerts and perform at community events.

Our teachers

Ann Derwent (Mosdell)

Is a qualified RAD Ballet teacher and qualified Teacher (TCRG) and Adjudicator (ADCRG) with CLRG Irish Dance. She has been teaching since she finished school. As a child she learnt Ballet, Scottish, Irish Dancing and has even taught swimming as a young adult.

Louise Hanratty (Derwent)

Is a qualified Teacher (TCRG) of CLRG Irish Dance and a Registered Nurse. As a child she learnt Ballet, Irish, Physical Culture and Calisthenics. She has been teaching since she was 16yrs old.
